Tomato Basil Bruschetta
Ingredients
- 2 ripe Roma plum tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 garlic clove, minced
- 6 large onions, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil leaves
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 French bread baguette, cut into 1/2-inch diagonal slices
Method
- 1 Preheat oven to 400°F. In a bowl, combine chopped tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped onions, basil, and olive oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
- 2 Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes until lightly browned. Remove from oven.
- 3 Serve the tomato mixture in a bowl with a spoon for self-service, or top each bread slice immediately before serving to prevent sogginess.
