Thickened Clam Chowder Stew Over Toast
Ingredients
- Clams (with their liquor)
- Flour
- Water
- Pepper
- Bread, toasted and buttered
Method
- 1 Strain the clam liquor and return the clams to it. Stew for about 20 minutes.
- 2 Make a thickening by mixing flour, water, and pepper. Stir this into the clams and let it boil up.
- 3 Place toasted and buttered bread in a deep dish. Pour the hot clams and sauce over the bread.
