Sweet Shortcrust Pie Dough
Ingredients
- 4 cups sifted flour
- 1 cup butter
- 1 pinch salt
- 3 heaping teaspoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 4 tablespoons ice water
- 2 egg yolks
Method
- 1 Rub butter, flour, salt, and sugar together thoroughly.
- 2 Add egg yolks, lemon juice, and ice water.
- 3 Work all ingredients together into a smooth paste.
- 4 Place dough on a pastry board and divide into four equal parts.
- 5 Roll each part to the size required for your pie plates.
