Sweet Milk Yeast Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 quart sweet milk, boiled and cooled
- ½ pound butter
- ¾ cup yeast
- salt to taste
- flour, as needed
- 2 egg whites, beaten
Method
- 1 Beat the cooled milk, butter, and yeast into the flour until combined.
- 2 Let the mixture stand in a warm place until light and risen.
- 3 Work in the beaten egg whites, then knead into a soft dough.
- 4 Shape into long rolls and let rise on the counter for 1-2 hours.
- 5 Grease pans and bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until golden.
