  • 1 quart sweet milk, boiled and cooled
  • ½ pound butter
  • ¾ cup yeast
  • salt to taste
  • flour, as needed
  • 2 egg whites, beaten

Method

  1. 1 Beat the cooled milk, butter, and yeast into the flour until combined.
  2. 2 Let the mixture stand in a warm place until light and risen.
  3. 3 Work in the beaten egg whites, then knead into a soft dough.
  4. 4 Shape into long rolls and let rise on the counter for 1-2 hours.
  5. 5 Grease pans and bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until golden.
