Sweet Barley Milk

Ingredients

  • 1 cup hulled barley
  • 4 cups almond milk
  • Sugar to taste
  • Pinch of salt

Method

  1. 1 Wash and boil the barley in water until very tender, similar to cooking for farina.
  2. 2 Drain the cooked barley and grind it into a smooth paste using a mortar or food processor.
  3. 3 Transfer the barley paste to a clean pot and stir in the almond milk until fully combined.
  4. 4 Simmer the mixture, adding sugar and a pinch of salt to taste, until heated through.
