Stuffed Pears With Vanilla Cream

Ingredients

  • 1 can pears
  • sugar
  • liquid cochineal
  • heavy cream
  • vanilla extract
  • finely shredded blanched almonds or pistachios

Method

  1. 1 Drain the canned pears and place them in a saucepan with sugar and a few drops of liquid cochineal for color.
  2. 2 Simmer gently for a few minutes until the syrup thickens, then carefully remove the pears without breaking them.
  3. 3 Once the pears are cool, scoop out the cores and fill the hollows with sweetened vanilla whipped cream.
  4. 4 Arrange the pears on a serving dish with the filled side up, sprinkle with shredded almonds or pistachios, and pour the reduced syrup around them.
