Stuffed Pears With Vanilla Cream
Ingredients
- 1 can pears
- sugar
- liquid cochineal
- heavy cream
- vanilla extract
- finely shredded blanched almonds or pistachios
Method
- 1 Drain the canned pears and place them in a saucepan with sugar and a few drops of liquid cochineal for color.
- 2 Simmer gently for a few minutes until the syrup thickens, then carefully remove the pears without breaking them.
- 3 Once the pears are cool, scoop out the cores and fill the hollows with sweetened vanilla whipped cream.
- 4 Arrange the pears on a serving dish with the filled side up, sprinkle with shredded almonds or pistachios, and pour the reduced syrup around them.
