Stuffed Beef Rolls With Sage Stuffing
Ingredients
- 1 lb rump or beefsteak, cut thin
- Veal or sage-and-onion stuffing
- ½ oz flour
- 1 cup boiling water
Method
- 1 Lay the stuffing on the steak and roll it around the meat.
- 2 Tie the rolled steak securely with kitchen twine.
- 3 Place the steak in a pie dish and pour boiling water over it.
- 4 Cover with an inverted pie dish and place in a moderate oven (350°F) for 2-3 hours until tender.
- 5 Transfer the steak to a hot serving dish.
- 6 Thicken the pan juices with the flour to make gravy and pour over the steak.
