Strawberry Shortcake With Ice Cream
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 heaping tablespoon butter
- milk
- crushed sweetened strawberries
- ice cream or frozen custard
Method
- 1 Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. Work in the butter.
- 2 Mix in enough milk to form a stiff dough. Roll thin.
- 3 Place one layer in a buttered pie pan, top with second layer. Bake at 350°F for 8 minutes.
- 4 Cool, cut into pieces, and split each piece.
- 5 Layer with crushed sweetened strawberries and top with ice cream or frozen custard.
