Strawberry Shortcake With Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 heaping tablespoon butter
  • milk
  • crushed sweetened strawberries
  • ice cream or frozen custard

Method

  1. 1 Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. Work in the butter.
  2. 2 Mix in enough milk to form a stiff dough. Roll thin.
  3. 3 Place one layer in a buttered pie pan, top with second layer. Bake at 350°F for 8 minutes.
  4. 4 Cool, cut into pieces, and split each piece.
  5. 5 Layer with crushed sweetened strawberries and top with ice cream or frozen custard.
