Strawberry Mint And Claret Punch
Ingredients
- 1 quart water
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 pint claret wine
- 1 cup strawberry juice
- 1 cup orange juice
- Juice of 8 lemons
- 1½ cups boiling water
- 12 sprigs fresh mint
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish
- Whole strawberries for garnish
- Large piece of ice
Method
- 1 Boil 1 quart water and 2 cups sugar for 20 minutes to make syrup.
- 2 Steep mint sprigs in 1½ cups boiling water for 5 minutes, then strain.
- 3 Combine the mint infusion with the sugar syrup and fruit juices.
- 4 Pour mixture into a punch bowl, add claret wine, and chill with ice.
- 5 Dilute with water if needed, then garnish with mint and strawberries.
