Strained Tomato Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1/2 pint strained tomatoes
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
Method
- 1 Melt butter in a saucepan and whisk in flour until smooth.
- 2 Add strained tomatoes, bay leaf, and celery seed. Stir constantly.
- 3 Bring to a boil, then stir in salt and paprika.
- 4 Strain the sauce and serve immediately.
