Strained Lentil And Tomato Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup soaked lentils
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup tomato juice
- 1 onion
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 24 peppercorns
- A pinch of mixed herbs
- 1 ounce flour
- 1 ounce butter
Method
- 1 Simmer lentils with peppercorns, herbs, and sliced onion for 20 minutes.
- 2 Add tomato juice and salt; simmer for another 20 minutes.
- 3 Strain the mixture, then thicken with flour and butter.
