Strained Fruit Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup crushed fresh fruit
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons water
Method
- 1 Combine fruit, brown sugar, and 1 cup water in a saucepan.
- 2 Cook over medium heat until fruit is soft, then cool slightly.
- 3 Rub the mixture through a fine sieve to remove skins/seeds.
- 4 Whisk cornstarch with 3 tablespoons water until smooth.
- 5 Return strained liquid to heat, stir in cornstarch mixture.
- 6 Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes until thickened.
