Strained Currant Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white and red currants
  • 2 oz sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch

Method

  1. 1 Combine currants, sugar, water, and cornstarch in a saucepan.
  2. 2 Cook over medium heat for 10 minutes.
  3. 3 Rub the mixture through a sieve to remove seeds.
  4. 4 Re-heat the strained sauce and thicken with remaining cornstarch if needed.
  5. 5 Serve hot or cold.
