Strained Currant Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup white and red currants
- 2 oz sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
Method
- 1 Combine currants, sugar, water, and cornstarch in a saucepan.
- 2 Cook over medium heat for 10 minutes.
- 3 Rub the mixture through a sieve to remove seeds.
- 4 Re-heat the strained sauce and thicken with remaining cornstarch if needed.
- 5 Serve hot or cold.
