Stiff Dough Cardamom Rolls With Ground Seeds

Ingredients

  • 2 cups hot milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 15 cardamom seeds
  • 1 cake yeast
  • 2 cups flour
  • additional flour for stiff dough

Method

  1. 1 Grind cardamom seeds and add to hot milk with shortening, sugar, and salt.
  2. 2 Let mixture cool until lukewarm, then add yeast mixed with tepid water and a little flour.
  3. 3 Mix ingredients and allow dough to rise.
  4. 4 Add enough flour to create a stiff dough, then knead.
  5. 5 Let dough rise again, shape into rolls or loaves, and let rise once more.
  6. 6 Bake in a 350°F oven until done.
