Stiff Dough Cardamom Rolls With Ground Seeds
Ingredients
- 2 cups hot milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 15 cardamom seeds
- 1 cake yeast
- 2 cups flour
- additional flour for stiff dough
Method
- 1 Grind cardamom seeds and add to hot milk with shortening, sugar, and salt.
- 2 Let mixture cool until lukewarm, then add yeast mixed with tepid water and a little flour.
- 3 Mix ingredients and allow dough to rise.
- 4 Add enough flour to create a stiff dough, then knead.
- 5 Let dough rise again, shape into rolls or loaves, and let rise once more.
- 6 Bake in a 350°F oven until done.
