  • 12 tomatoes
  • 1 ounce butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Method

  1. 1 Pour boiling water over tomatoes, then place in cold water for 30 seconds to loosen skins. Remove skins.
  2. 2 Slice tomatoes into quarters with a sharp knife.
  3. 3 Melt butter in a stewpan, add tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Stew gently for 20 minutes, stirring frequently.
