Stewed Steak And Root Vegetable Stew
Ingredients
- steaks
- onions, cut into pieces
- carrots, cut into pieces
- turnips, cut into pieces
- celery, cut into pieces
- thyme
- pepper
- salt
- 2 ounces flour
- 1 quart water
Method
- 1 Fry steaks brown over high heat until not fully cooked.
- 2 Place steaks in a saucepan with chopped onions, carrots, turnips, and celery.
- 3 Season with thyme, pepper, salt, and 2 ounces of flour.
- 4 Add 1 quart water, stir, and bring to a boil.
- 5 Simmer gently on the hob for 1.5 hours until tender.
