  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. 1 Slice the red cabbage thinly, wash well, and drain.
  2. 2 Place the cabbage in a saucepan with the dripping or butter, vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  3. 3 Cover and stew slowly on the hob for about one hour, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
