Stewed Quinces and Apples

Ingredients

  • 1 quart sweet apples
  • 1 pint quinces
  • 1 pound sugar
  • 1 cup water

Method

  1. 1 Wash, peel, core, and quarter the apples and quinces.
  2. 2 Add sugar to water and bring to a rapid boil.
  3. 3 Add quinces and cook until partly softened.
  4. 4 Add apples and cook until both fruits are tender.
  5. 5 Remove from heat, cool, and serve.
