Stewed Onions With Parsley Sauce
Ingredients
- Onions, halved lengthwise
- 1 tbsp butter
- ¾ cup water
- Handful of fresh parsley, chopped
- Allinson fine wheatmeal
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Toast squares for serving
Method
- 1 Place halved onions in a saucepan with butter and water. Stew gently for 1.5 hours until liquid reduces.
- 2 Thicken the remaining liquid with fine wheatmeal, then season with salt and pepper.
- 3 Simmer for a few minutes, stir in chopped parsley, and serve immediately over toast squares.
