Stewed Onions With Parsley Sauce

Ingredients

  • Onions, halved lengthwise
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ¾ cup water
  • Handful of fresh parsley, chopped
  • Allinson fine wheatmeal
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Toast squares for serving

Method

  1. 1 Place halved onions in a saucepan with butter and water. Stew gently for 1.5 hours until liquid reduces.
  2. 2 Thicken the remaining liquid with fine wheatmeal, then season with salt and pepper.
  3. 3 Simmer for a few minutes, stir in chopped parsley, and serve immediately over toast squares.
