Stewed Fruit Custard Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups cold stewed fresh fruit
- 1 cup milk
- 4 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 well-beaten egg
- ¾ cup sugar
Method
- 1 Combine fruit, milk, and cornstarch in a saucepan. Stir to dissolve the starch.
- 2 Bring to a boil over heat, stirring constantly.
- 3 Cook for five minutes.
- 4 Add the beaten egg and sugar. Beat hard and cook for two more minutes.
