Stewed Fruit Custard Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups cold stewed fresh fruit
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 well-beaten egg
  • ¾ cup sugar

Method

  1. 1 Combine fruit, milk, and cornstarch in a saucepan. Stir to dissolve the starch.
  2. 2 Bring to a boil over heat, stirring constantly.
  3. 3 Cook for five minutes.
  4. 4 Add the beaten egg and sugar. Beat hard and cook for two more minutes.
