Steamed Vanilla Sponge Cake
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- a little salt
- 1 cup sweet milk
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 3 cups flour
- 1 ½ teaspoons flavoring
Method
- 1 Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- 2 Beat in the eggs and salt, then mix in the milk and flavoring.
- 3 Stir in the baking powder and flour until just combined.
- 4 Pour the batter into a greased pudding mold.
- 5 Steam for one hour until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
- 6 Serve warm with your preferred sauce.
