Steamed Sugar Buns
Ingredients
- 18 ounces dough
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- sugar for dusting
- boiling water for steam
Method
- 1 Divide 18 ounces of dough into 12 pieces and mold into balls. Let rest for 10 minutes.
- 2 Mold balls round and place close together on a well-greased baking pan. Let rise for 35 minutes.
- 3 Whisk 1 egg with 1/4 cup milk. Brush tops with egg wash, then wash and dust lightly with sugar.
- 4 Place a pan of boiling water in the oven. Bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 18 minutes.
- 5 Cool completely. Store in an airtight box. To reheat, place in oven with boiling water for 10 minutes.
