Steamed Oysters With Melted Butter
Ingredients
- 1 dozen salt oysters or clams
- 1 quart boiling water
- Melted butter, for serving
- Steaming liquid from oysters/clams
Method
- 1 Scrub the oysters or clams clean with a stiff brush under cold water.
- 2 Place a colander in a deep saucepan and add one quart of boiling water.
- 3 Fill the colander with the cleaned bivalves and steam until they open.
- 4 Serve one dozen steamed oysters or clams in a deep soup plate.
- 5 Accompany with a small saucer of melted butter and a cup of the steaming liquid.
