Steamed Molasses Raisin Pudding
Ingredients
- 1 cup raisins, stoned and chopped
- 1 cup butter, chopped
- 2 ½ cups flour
- 1 cup Porto Rico molasses
- 1 cup sweet milk
- 1 scant teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- A little nutmeg
Method
- 1 Prepare a steaming mold by greasing it lightly.
- 2 Combine the chopped raisins, butter, flour, molasses, milk, soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl.
- 3 Mix the ingredients thoroughly until a uniform batter forms.
- 4 Pour the batter into the prepared mold.
- 5 Steam the pudding in a pot of boiling water for two hours.
- 6 Serve hot with your preferred sauce.
