Steamed Molasses Pudding
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- ½ cup molasses
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1½ cups fine white pastry flour
- ½ cup boiling water
Method
- 1 Beat the egg and sugar together, then beat in the molasses.
- 2 Beat in the melted butter.
- 3 Dissolve the baking soda in a little warm water and add to the mixture.
- 4 Stir in the flour, then add the boiling water last and mix well.
- 5 Steam the mixture for 45 minutes.
