Steamed Macaroni And Cheese Casserole
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb macaroni
- 1 tbsp salt
- 5 egg yolks
- 2 egg whites
- 1/2 pint heavy cream
- 1/2 cup minced cooked white meat (chicken or turkey)
- 1/2 cup minced boiled ham
- 3 tbsp grated cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter for greasing
Method
- 1 Boil macaroni in salted water until tender but not broken. Drain well.
- 2 Beat egg yolks and whites with cream. Mince white meat and ham finely.
- 3 Combine macaroni, meats, cheese, and egg mixture. Season with salt and pepper.
- 4 Grease a mold with butter. Pour in mixture and steam in boiling water for 1 hour.
- 5 Unmold and serve with rich gravy.
