Steamed Layered Apple Custard
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- pinch of salt
- 1 heaping tsp baking powder
- flour (enough to make a thin batter)
- finely cut apples or other fruit
- sugar
Method
- 1 Beat three eggs separately.
- 2 Add milk, salt, and baking powder. Sift in flour gradually to create a thin batter.
- 3 Fill buttered custard cups with batter, alternating with fruit sprinkled with sugar.
- 4 Steam for one hour.
- 5 Serve hot with cream and sugar or preferred sauce.
