Steamed Layered Apple Custard

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 heaping tsp baking powder
  • flour (enough to make a thin batter)
  • finely cut apples or other fruit
  • sugar

Method

  1. 1 Beat three eggs separately.
  2. 2 Add milk, salt, and baking powder. Sift in flour gradually to create a thin batter.
  3. 3 Fill buttered custard cups with batter, alternating with fruit sprinkled with sugar.
  4. 4 Steam for one hour.
  5. 5 Serve hot with cream and sugar or preferred sauce.
