Steamed Ladyfinger Custard With Raisins
Ingredients
- 12 ladyfinger biscuits
- 1 oz granulated sugar
- 1 pint milk
- 2 whole eggs
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Butter for greasing
- Raisins or preserved cherries for decoration
Method
- 1 Grease a 1.5-quart mold with butter. Line the bottom and sides with raisins or cherries.
- 2 Whisk eggs, yolks, milk, sugar, and vanilla together until well combined.
- 3 Break ladyfingers into pieces. Layer biscuits and custard in the mold, alternating until full.
- 4 Cover the mold with buttered parchment paper. Steam gently for 1 hour.
