Steamed Caramel Custard
Ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 egg white
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
Method
- 1 Brown 1/2 cup sugar in an iron pan, add 1/2 cup water, and simmer until thick syrup.
- 2 Line a mold with the caramel, turning rapidly from side to side.
- 3 Beat milk with 4 egg yolks, 1 egg white, and 1 tablespoon sugar. Strain into the caramel-lined mold.
- 4 Cover and steam for 30 minutes.
