Steak And Giblet Pie

Ingredients

  • Giblets (excluding liver)
  • 1 rump steak
  • 1 onion
  • Whole peppercorns
  • Sweet herbs
  • Salt
  • Puff pastry

Method

  1. 1 Clean giblets (except liver). Place in a saucepan with water, onion, peppercorns, sweet herbs, and salt.
  2. 2 Cover and stew giblets until tender. Reserve the cooking liquid.
  3. 3 Season the rump steak with pepper and salt.
  4. 4 Line a pie dish with puff pastry. Add the steak, then the stewed giblets and liver.
  5. 5 Pour in the reserved cooking liquid. Close the pie and bake for two hours.
  6. 6 When done, pour in additional gravy if desired.
