Stale Oatmeal Bread
Ingredients
- 2 cups oatmeal
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup molasses
- ½ cake yeast
- wheat flour (as needed)
Method
- 1 Boil oatmeal with salt as if making porridge. Let cool.
- 2 Stir in molasses and crumbled yeast. Add wheat flour until the dough is very stiff.
- 3 Place dough in two greased pans. Let rise in a warm place until very light.
- 4 Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Do not cut until the next day.
