Spiced Sweet Cucumber Pickles

Ingredients

  • 2 quarts small cucumbers
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • Vinegar (enough to cover)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Whole mustard seed
  • Cloves
  • Cinnamon

Method

  1. 1 Place cucumbers in a dish with salt and cover with boiling water. Let stand overnight.
  2. 2 Remove cucumbers from brine and place in a large kettle.
  3. 3 Cover with vinegar, sugar, mustard seed, cloves, and cinnamon. Heat to boiling point but do not boil.
  4. 4 Can or bottle the pickles while hot.
