Spiced Mulled Wine With Egg
Ingredients
- 1 ounce cinnamon stick
- A slight grating of nutmeg
- ½ cup boiling water
- 1 egg
- ½ cup sherry, port, or claret wine
- 2 tablespoons sugar
Method
- 1 Place cinnamon, nutmeg, and boiling water in the top of a double boiler. Cover and cook over hot water for 10 minutes.
- 2 Add the wine to the spiced water and bring to the boiling point.
- 3 Beat the egg to a stiff froth, add sugar, and pour onto the mulled wine while beating well.
- 4 Serve immediately.
