Spiced Molasses Ginger Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup molasses
- 2 tablespoons fat
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon hot water
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- About 3 cups flour (total)
Method
- 1 Heat molasses and fat until fat is melted.
- 2 Sift spices with one cup of flour.
- 3 Dissolve soda in one teaspoon of hot water.
- 4 Combine all ingredients and add enough more flour to make dough stiff enough to roll out.
- 5 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 12 to 15 minutes.
