Spiced Lemon Tea Syrup
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon whole cloves, crushed
- 2 inch piece stick cinnamon, broken in pieces
- Cheesecloth
- Juice of 2 lemons
Method
- 1 Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan and heat to boiling until dissolved.
- 2 Add cloves and cinnamon tied loosely in cheesecloth. Boil gently until syrup reaches 215°F.
- 3 Remove from heat and let cool. Stir in lemon juice.
- 4 Serve in a small bowl, adding 1 tablespoon of syrup to each cup of tea.
