Spiced Gingerbread Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 lb flour
- 1 cup treacle
- 2 oz butter
- ½ oz ground ginger
- Allspice
- 1 tsp baking soda
- Salt
Method
- 1 Mix flour, treacle, butter, ginger, allspice, baking soda, and salt into a firm, stiff paste.
- 2 Divide the dough into 24 parts and roll each into walnut shapes.
- 3 Place on greased baking sheets 2 inches apart.
- 4 Bake in a 400°F oven for 15 minutes.
