  • ¾ lb moist sugar
  • ½ lb candied orange peel, cut small
  • 1.5 oz ground ginger
  • 1 oz ground caraway seeds
  • ¾ lb butter

Method

  1. 1 Mix flour, treacle, sugar, orange peel, ginger, caraway seeds, and butter until well combined.
  2. 2 Let the mixture rest for some time.
  3. 3 Roll the dough into pieces the size of small walnuts.
  4. 4 Place in rows on a baking sheet and flatten slightly with your hand.
  5. 5 Bake in a slow oven (300°F) for about 10 minutes.
