Spiced Gingerbread Cookies With Caraway And Orange
Ingredients
- 2 lbs sifted flour
- 2 lbs treacle
- ¾ lb moist sugar
- ½ lb candied orange peel, cut small
- 1.5 oz ground ginger
- 1 oz ground caraway seeds
- ¾ lb butter
Method
- 1 Mix flour, treacle, sugar, orange peel, ginger, caraway seeds, and butter until well combined.
- 2 Let the mixture rest for some time.
- 3 Roll the dough into pieces the size of small walnuts.
- 4 Place in rows on a baking sheet and flatten slightly with your hand.
- 5 Bake in a slow oven (300°F) for about 10 minutes.
