Spiced Egg Nog
Ingredients
- 2 quarts heavy cream
- whole spices (e.g., nutmeg, cinnamon)
- 12 large eggs
- sugar to taste
- 1 pint sherry or sack
Method
- 1 Boil cream with whole spices, then remove from heat.
- 2 Beat eggs until strained, then stir into the warm cream along with sugar to taste.
- 3 Stir in the sherry or sack.
- 4 Return mixture to heat and cook gently, stirring carefully to thicken without curdling.
- 5 Pour gently into a basin to serve.
