Spiced Cinnamon Fig Preserves

Ingredients

  • ½ pound pulled figs
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves
  • 1 12-inch stick of cinnamon

Method

  1. 1 Wash the figs and soak them in cold water for 1 hour. Drain well.
  2. 2 Place the figs in a saucepan with vinegar and sugar.
  3. 3 Tie the cloves and broken cinnamon stick in a cheesecloth bag.
  4. 4 Add the spice bag to the saucepan and cook for 50 minutes or until the figs are tender.
