Spiced Cinnamon Fig Preserves
Ingredients
- ½ pound pulled figs
- 1 cup vinegar
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 1 tablespoon whole cloves
- 1 12-inch stick of cinnamon
Method
- 1 Wash the figs and soak them in cold water for 1 hour. Drain well.
- 2 Place the figs in a saucepan with vinegar and sugar.
- 3 Tie the cloves and broken cinnamon stick in a cheesecloth bag.
- 4 Add the spice bag to the saucepan and cook for 50 minutes or until the figs are tender.
