Spiced Brandy Shortbread Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 lb all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 tsp ground mace
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup brandy or wine
- Milk, as needed
Method
- 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, mace, and nutmeg.
- 2 Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 3 Stir in the brandy or wine, then add milk gradually until the dough comes together.
- 4 Roll the dough thin on a floured surface and cut into desired shapes.
- 5 Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
