Sourdough Pancakes With Yeast And Baking Soda

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cake compressed yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • flour
  • 1 cup thick sour milk
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Method

  1. 1 Scald 2 cups milk, dissolve yeast and salt in it. Sift in enough flour to make a thin, smooth batter. Set to rise overnight.
  2. 2 In the morning, add 1 cup thick sour milk, 1 tbsp melted butter, 2 beaten eggs, and 1 tsp baking soda. Add enough flour to make a smooth, thin batter.
  3. 3 Let stand for 20-30 minutes. Cook on a hot griddle as usual.
