Sour Milk Oatmeal Muffins
Ingredients
- 2 cups oatmeal
- 1 ½ cups sour milk
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp cold water
- ½ tsp salt
- 4 tbsp syrup
- 2 tbsp shortening
- 1 cup sifted flour
Method
- 1 Grind oatmeal in a food chopper and place in a mixing bowl.
- 2 Dissolve baking soda in cold water. Add sour milk, salt, syrup, shortening, and flour to the bowl. Beat to mix.
- 3 Pour batter into well-greased muffin pans.
- 4 Bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 20 minutes.
