Sour Milk Bread Griddle Cakes
Ingredients
- 2 cups sour milk
- 2 cups bread, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 egg, beaten
Method
- 1 Let the bread stand in the sour milk until soft.
- 2 Press the mixture through a colander.
- 3 For each pint of the mixture, add 1 egg, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 2 teaspoons sugar, 1/8 teaspoon salt, 1/2 cup flour, and 1 beaten egg.
- 4 Mix well and bake immediately on a hot, greased griddle.
