Sour Milk Biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 3 tablespoons Crisco
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup sour milk
Method
- 1 Sift flour and salt into a bowl, then rub Crisco lightly into the mixture.
- 2 Stir baking soda into sour milk until it effervesces, then add to the flour mixture.
- 3 Turn out onto a floured surface and knead lightly until smooth.
- 4 Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut with a biscuit cutter.
- 5 Place biscuits on a greased tin and bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 12-15 minutes.
