Sour Cream Strawberry Shortcake
Ingredients
- 1 quart white flour
- 3 tablespoons cold butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon baking soda dissolved in a little water
- Sweetened strawberries
- Whipped cream
Method
- 1 Mix flour, cold butter, salt, and sugar. Stir in a mixture of beaten egg and sour cream.
- 2 Dissolve baking soda in water and mix into the dough quickly. Roll lightly into two round sheets.
- 3 Place rounds on pie tins and bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 20-25 minutes.
- 4 Split the baked rounds, spread sweetened berries between layers and on top, and cover with whipped cream.
