  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp Crisco
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3 tbsp hot water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Flour (as needed)
  • Maple sugar (for topping)

Method

  1. 1 Cream Crisco and sugar together, then add the well-beaten egg and mix well.
  2. 2 Add sour cream, salt, and baking soda dissolved in hot water. Mix thoroughly.
  3. 3 Add enough flour to create a dough with the right consistency to drop from a spoon.
  4. 4 Place spoonfuls of dough on a baking sheet and grate maple sugar over each cookie.
