Soft Molasses Gingerbread Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup sour cream or milk
- 1 cup New Orleans molasses
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp allspice
- 1 tsp cloves
- 1 tsp ginger
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp baking soda
Method
- 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream butter and brown sugar, then beat in eggs.
- 2 Mix in sour cream (or milk) and molasses until combined.
- 3 Whisk together flour, allspice, cloves, ginger, cinnamon, and baking soda.
- 4 Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- 5 Spread batter evenly onto two baking sheets.
- 6 Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are firm. Cool before serving.
