  • Spinach
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • Pepper and salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon cream or 2 tablespoons milk
  • Crustless slices of buttered toast

Method

  1. 1 Cook spinach in boiling salted water for 20 minutes, then drain and chop fine.
  2. 2 Melt butter in a saucepan with sugar, nutmeg, pepper, and salt.
  3. 3 Stir in the chopped spinach and beat until smooth while heating.
