Smooth Creamed Spinach On Crustless Toast
Ingredients
- Spinach
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Pinch of nutmeg
- Pepper and salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon cream or 2 tablespoons milk
- Crustless slices of buttered toast
Method
- 1 Cook spinach in boiling salted water for 20 minutes, then drain and chop fine.
- 2 Melt butter in a saucepan with sugar, nutmeg, pepper, and salt.
- 3 Stir in the chopped spinach and beat until smooth while heating.
- 4 Add cream or milk at the end, then pour over crustless buttered toast.
