Slow Cooker Beef Stew

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons beef bouillon (2 cubes)
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 3 carrots, sliced
  • 3 potatoes, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 celery stalk, sliced
  • Herbs as desired (bay leaf, basil, oregano, etc.)

Method

  1. 1 Place the stew meat into the slow cooker.
  2. 2 Mix flour, salt, and pepper in a bowl, then pour over the meat and stir to coat evenly.
  3. 3 Add the water, bouillon, garlic, carrots, potatoes, onion, celery, and herbs. Stir to combine.
  4. 4 Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours or HIGH for 4 to 6 hours.
  5. 5 Stir the stew thoroughly before serving. Discard the bay leaf if used.
