Slow Cooked Rice Pudding With Raisins
Ingredients
- 1 quart milk
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 1/3 cup rice
- 1/8 teaspoon grated nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
Method
- 1 Combine milk, butter, rice, nutmeg, salt, and sugar in a pudding pan.
- 2 Place the pan in a cooker pail of water and heat until the water boils.
- 3 Remove the pan and bring the pudding mixture to a boil.
- 4 Return the pudding to the large pan of boiling water, cover, and cook for 3-4 hours.
- 5 Optionally brown in the oven before serving.
